You can create DOTS Service Desk tickets directly in Slack, instead of using the DOTS form. This may help save some time to create a Service Ticket.

Step-by-step guide

Method 1: Using a text prompt:

  1. In any chat window in Slack, type the following and press "enter".
    /create-dots-service-request

  2. You will be presented with a form to create your DOTS Service Desk Ticket. Fill in the fields with the appropriate information and hit SUBMIT JIRA TICKET

Method 2: in the MTS-Support Slack channel

  1. Go to the MTS-support channel in Slack https://deptofveteransaffairs.enterprise.slack.com/archives/C05PRL759TP
  2. Type "Help" and press "enter".
  3. Click on the button for "Create Service Desk Ticket"
  4. You will be presented with a form to create your DOTS Service Desk Ticket. Fill in the fields with the appropriate information and hit SUBMIT JIRA TICKET


  • If you are using the text prompt, it doesnt matter what Slack Direct Message/Channel you are currently in when you type in the prompt: it will not be seen by others when you hit "enter".
