How do I gain access to Jira and Confluence?

Step-by-step guide

Here are the steps to get access to Jira and Confluence. You will be added ONLY to the project(s) that you request access to. There is no "global" access available.

  1. Before gaining access to Jira or Confluence, you will need an OKTA account:
    1. If you don't have an OKTA account, please click here for instructions on requesting an account.
  2. If you have an OKTA account, but don't have access to Jira or Confluence, you must be added to an OKTA group first. Click here to be added to an OKTA group.
    1. If you know the name of the group that you need access to, you can select it from the "group" dropdown (optional).
    2.  Alternatively, if you know the project name, you can enter that in "project name" field
    3. Make sure to include your Project Lead: it will help to ensure you are added to the correct project
  3. Once you have been added to an OKTA account, you can gain access to Jira and Confluence with either:
    1. PIV Card and a GFE
    2. VA.gov email account

  • See this page to get access to a project Admin
  • If you already have access to Jira and cannot access Confluence, it may be that you have not logged in to Confluence yet. Please go to the link below and select "VA Confluence"
