Attention all users! The ICAM team has migrated all accounts to Entra ID. All accounts require the VA network for access. More information on this migration can be found at this link: Entra ID Migration
Problem
I want to add users to a Jira project, or restricted Confluence page. The recommendation is that they are added to a Group (which is added to the Jira project or Confluence page) instead of being added individually.
Solution
- Gather your list of users that you want to add to the Group. Dont worry if you dont have the complete list of users: you can always add/remove users later.
- Please fill out the form located here https://jira.devops.va.gov/servicedesk/customer/portal/1/create/1127
- Please submit a new request for any changes after the Group is created
As the name "Group" implies, using Groups allow you to manage your users collectively, instead of individually. The advantages include:
- You can apply your group to both Jira and Confluence. You will need to request that it is applied to BOTH instances.
- You can manage addition/removal of users globally; for example, if a member is leaving your team, you can have them removed from your group and that will apply everywhere your group is being used. You dont have to try to remember every place an individual has been added and then remove them one-at-a-time.
