Once you have a new Confluence Space, you can begin configuring it to your liking, including setup and ongoing maintenance
Step-by-step guide
How to administer your space
- Please review the following admin setup items in your new space:
- Look and feel
- User-created Templates
- Reorder Pages
- Configure Sidebar
- Please do not change admin/space permissions; if you need assistance with permissions, please contact the DOTS team for assistance (feel free to change page permissions as needed).
- Do not delete and/or copy the space. This will result in immediate removal of space admin permission.
- You can move any pages that already exist in other spaces to your new space through the standard "Move" tool under the ellipses on a page ("...")
- Make sure to setup a regular schedule for admin review: this will ensure there are no issues with your space. Some recommended admin review items include:
- Review the pages in your space, and declutter any pages that a no longer needed.
- It is recommended that you create an "archive" section for any pages that are no longer needed (it is better to archive pages instead of deleting them)
- Please review the following admin setup items in your new space:
Group Permissions
While it is possible to manage user access to pages on an individual user basis (one-by-one), it is highly recommended that you manage these permissions through groups. This ensures consistent management of users, simplifies the handling, and ensures that you - as an admin - are not constantly adding and removing users from pages one-by-one. You can add users to groups through the DOTS service desk form.
