I have 2 Confluence accounts: I want to transfer all my pages to my va.gov email account. How do I do that?

Step-by-step guide

  • There is not a way to fully transfer permissions and activities from one account to another: for example, if you created a page with your non-VA Confluence account (i.e, your "old" account), that "page creation" and any other activities (such as edits, etc) will remain with that non-VA Confluence account. This ensures an accurate record of activities for each account.
  • This issue often occurs when a user as a non-VA.gov email account, and then after some time has a new account setup with a va.gov email account, and they want to start using the va.gov email account as their main account.

  1. Since you cannot transfer the pages/access from one account to another, the best practice is to ensure that the permissions match between the 2 accounts. This will ensure that you can access all pages from the new account.
  2. Make sure you are logged into your "old" Confluence account.
  3. In the upper right, click on your avatar. From there, you can select "Profile" to see a list of all the pages that you have edited.
  4. On your profile page, you can see a list of all the pages that you have worked on. You can click on any of those pages to see if they have restrictions (which could prevent your new account from access or editing). You can see details on restrictions here https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/page-restrictions-139414.html
    1. If there are no restrictions, you do not need to change anything and you can access and edit the page(s) from your new Confluence account.
    2.  If there are restrictions, you may need to request access. Follow instructions here
